Components of Agility Performance

Unit 1: Running Fundamentals

In this unit you will learn:

– The coaching cues and tricks we use to accelerate motor learning
– The key technical features that make great running and sprinting
– How to record and analyse slow motion running footage
– Drills workshop for running and sprinting breakdowns

Unit 2: Agility for Sports

In this unit you will learn:

Unit 3: Coaching the Vertical Leap

In this unit you will learn:

– How to progress double and single leg landing
– Why your athletes need to develop stiff and soft landing skills
– The force time relationship of good versus bad jumpers
– Why most online jump programs are a terrible idea

Unit 4: Advanced Running Coaching

In this unit you will learn:

– Advanced running drill progressions and drills
– The benefits and risks of barefoot training
– Acceleration mechanics and cues
– The art of the start: How to improve and coach first step quickness

Jacob Tober, BEx&SpS is an ASCA certified coached and ESSA accredited Sports scientist.

With seven years experience working in private sector and elite strength and conditioning, Jacob splits his time between his role as a high performance coach with his role as head of education for Core Advantage, researching and developing educational content for the Core Advantage Mentorship, short courses and our social platforms.

Since 2017, Jacob has been working in an advisory role with Deakin University providing a coaches perspective and assisting in research design and implementation for studies exploring velocity based training and power development.
