Real-World Functional Anatomy

This short course is the perfect companion to help you deepen your practial understanding of how the muscles, tendons, bones, nerves and so much more work together to create movement and express power.

This course is made up of three units, lower body, core training and upper body.

Unit 1: Functional Lower Body Training

Uncovering how the hamstrings function in high performance, why dorsiflexion is so important, the key difference between a hinge and squat pattern and so much more!

Unit 2: Core Training and Performance

The core is a complex area of study, in this unit we cover the anatomy of the core, pros and cons of certain exercises plus a practical workshop on how we coach the fundamental core exercises.

Unit 3: Functional Upper Body Training

Starting at the thoracic and radiating out into the arms, explore scapulohumeral rhythm, pull vs push training and why serratus anterior should be one of your highest priority muscles.

Velocity Based Training

Technology is changing the way we train athletes and work with clients. One of the leading disruptors in this technological revolution is velocity based training, or VBT.

This two level course will help you no matter your current knowledge levels, experience or ability to use it with your clients. Completely free from bias or financial motivations, this course has no affiliation to any one technological option or brand.

Unit 1: VBT Level 1

Start with a definition, work through the basic underpinning principles, before rounding out this unit with real world practical use cases no matter your population or budget.

Unit 2: VBT Level 2

Building directly on level 1, this course will deepen your understanding of the core science behind VBT while expanding your practical skills and applicability of VBT principles with clients from a diverse range of skills

Building Multi-Directional Power

Technology is changing the way we train athletes and work with clients. One of the leading disruptors in this technological revolution is velocity based training, or VBT.

This two level course will help you no matter your current knowledge levels, experience or ability to use it with your clients. Completely free from bias or financial motivations, this course has no affiliation to any one technological option or brand.

Unit 1: Linear Speed and Acceleration

Walk before you run, run before you change direction. Starting with the fundamentals of great running technique will make it much easier to build explosive athletes in every direction.

Unit 2: Change of Direction

Building on linear speed development, it’s time to introduce multi-directional cutting, agility, foot speed and quickness.

Unit 3: Vertical Leap

Jumping is part skill, part physical, part psychological and all improvable, no matter your athletes level, there is a good chance they can make improvements with intelligent training and programming.

Unit 4: Running Masterclass 

This unit goes back to linear speed development and fills in some important gaps, starting with distance running efficiency and concluding with a practical workshop looking into stride rate, acceleration mechanics and plenty more!
